<H Shrs>HSI Opens Up 62 Pts; CATL Soars 5%; KUAISHOU-W, BABA-W Rally

The HSI opened up 62 points or 0.2% at 26,918. The HSCEI climbed 11 points or 0.1% to 9,567. The HSTECH rose 17 points or 0.3% to 6,483. Many car makers have announced their monthly sales. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) opened 0.3% higher, as Xiaomi Auto delivered over 40,000 vehicles in September. LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK) also edged up 0.5%. It sold over 66,000 vehicles in September, a YoY increase of 97%. XPENG-W (09868.HK) dropped 0.8%, even though its new car deliveries saw a MoM growth of 10% to over 41,000 units in September. NIO-SW (09866.HK) gained 2.6%. It delivered 34,700 vehicles in September, up 64% YoY. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) added 0.3%. Its September total sales soared 35% YoY to 273,000 vehicles. In addition, BYD COMPANY-100 (01211.HK) opened flat at HKD110.2, while LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) receded 1.8%. CHERY AUTO (09973.HK) leaped 1.2% amid reports that it is in talks with Renault regarding a South American automotive production partnership. Battery stock CATL (03750.HK) rocketed 5% to HKD600. In the tech sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) shot up 1.5% and 2% at open. TENCENT (00700.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) inclined 0.7% and 0.8%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) lost 0.3%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) eroded 1.9% and 2.9%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) ticked up 3% to HKD87.1. Among pharma stocks, CSPC PHARMA opened intact at HKD9.37.
