The HSI opened 51 points or 0.2% higher at 26,674. The HSCEI climbed 21 points or 0.2% to 9,475. The HSTECH rose 21 points or 0.3% to 6,345. In the technology sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened up 1.8% at HKD176.6. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) edged up 0.8%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) hiked 1.1% and 1.3%. TENCENT (00700.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) inched 0.2-0.4% lower. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) added 0.4%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) gained 1.3% and 2.6%. Among car makers, BYD COMPANY-100 (01211.HK) dropped 2.3% at open after it reduced its annual sales target. In contrast, NIO-SW (09866.HK) swelled 1.6%. ZIJIN GOLD INTL (02259.HK) debuted at HKD111.5, up 55.7% from its listing price of HKD71.59. ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) also opened up 7.3%.
